On July 22, 2025, the Maltese government officially promulgated Legal Notice 146/25, which introduced several amendments to the current Malta Permanent Residence Programme (MPRP). These mainly include revisions to the programme's fee structure, the introduction of a new temporary residence permit, and upgrades to leasing flexibility, further benefiting applicants.
