Policy Dividends Materialize: Cypriot Real Estate Sales Grow by Nearly 20%!
Latest reports indicate that in March 2025, real estate sales in Cyprus surged by 19% year-on-year, with all major cities recording double-digit growth. Among them, the Paphos region led the national figures with a 32% increase. Larnaca saw a 21% rise, Nicosia 18%, Famagusta 15%, and Limassol 11%. Even with the lowest growth rate of 11%, Limassol still recorded the highest absolute volume of real estate sales across all of Cyprus.
International Investors Flock In! Paphos International Market Sales Up 39%
In March 2025, international sales in the Cyprus real estate market rose by 25% year-on-year. Sales of Paphos properties to the international market increased by 39%, making it the top-performing and highest-volume region for Cypriot real estate internationally and the preferred destination for global property investors. Paphos has long been favored by EU investors and has now become a strategic hotspot for non-EU investors as well.
As an EU member state, Cyprus is known as the "Garden of Europe." With its accession to the Schengen Area on the horizon, the value of Cypriot status is set to rise further! Once Cyprus successfully joins the Schengen Area in 2025, it will become, alongside Malta, a country that integrates four statuses: EU member state, Eurozone member, Commonwealth member, and Schengen Area member. The Schengen accession process is continuously advancing; as the attractiveness of the Schengen status grows, future investment thresholds may rise and the window for policy dividends is limited. Worldway Group advises interested investors to seize this opportunity and act early.
Currently, with an investment starting from €300,000, the entire family can apply for permanent residency in Cyprus. Children can enjoy free public compulsory education and can return to China as overseas Chinese students to apply for enrollment, providing an easier path to top-tier universities such as the 985 and 211 institutions. Furthermore, upon obtaining Cypriot permanent residency and meeting the relevant requirements, individuals may also apply for a Cypriot EU passport.
Important Reminder! Tightening immigration policies across various European countries has become the prevailing trend. Following the closure of the investment citizenship program in Cyprus, Ireland's closure of its investment immigration program, Portugal's termination of real estate-based immigration, price hikes in Greece and Malta, and Spain's cancellation of its Golden Visa, the European Parliament has long proposed closing all investment immigration programs by 2025. Sudden policy changes prove once again: the immigration market is volatile, time waits for no one, and early action is essential!
