On February 12, local time, former Speaker of the Hellenic Parliament and New Democracy party member, Konstantinos Tasoulas, was successfully elected as the new President of the Hellenic Republic in a parliamentary vote.

As the candidate nominated by the ruling party, Tasoulas received 160 votes in the 300-seat Hellenic Parliament, well above the simple majority of 151 required for election. A total of 276 members participated in the vote, with 24 absent, including all 11 members of the New Left party. The New Democracy party currently holds 156 seats in parliament, ensuring Tasoulas's victory was virtually certain. This was the fourth and final round of voting, bringing the presidential election to a close.
Tasoulas will succeed the current president, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, whose term expires on March 13, 2025. The new president's inauguration ceremony is expected to take place on the same day, marking the official start of the new presidential term.
In 2024, the Greek tourism industry achieved a historic breakthrough, setting new records for tourism revenue and air passenger volume, with the Greek economy showing a comprehensive recovery. The inauguration of the new president, Tasoulas, will undoubtedly bring new changes to Greece's future political direction, leading the country to achieve breakthroughs in economic reform, attracting foreign investment, and developing emerging industries, thereby injecting new vitality into Greece's development.
Under the dual benefits of politics and the economy, visionary investors have already taken the lead in seizing the Greek real estate market. If you also have needs for overseas status, asset allocation, or children's education, you must act in advance!
As one of the few programs in the current immigration market that allows for quick acquisition of an EU green card, the Greek Golden Visa program has relaxed requirements such as no educational background, no language proficiency, no management experience, and no residency requirements, along with multiple advantages such as including three generations of the family. By investing in properties starting from 250,000 euros, you can obtain permanent residency in the EU member state of Greece in one step, offering many benefits! Currently, there are few high-quality 'commercial-to-residential' properties on the market that comply with the Greek Golden Visa application act and can be transferred quickly. We advise interested investors to seize the opportunity, select properties and complete transfers early, and secure their status for peace of mind!
