U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has issued a new rule: effective December 2, applicants must submit Form I-693 (Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record) at the same time they file Form I-485 (Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status). Failure to do so may result in the rejection of the I-485 application.
In the past, because green card application processing times were relatively long and medical examination reports were only valid for one year, many applicants would first submit Form I-485 and then wait for USCIS to issue a Request for Evidence (RFE) for the medical report before undergoing the examination and submitting the form. During the pandemic, the validity period of medical reports was extended to two years.
In this new rule, USCIS emphasizes that applicants for adjustment of status must not only complete the immigration medical examination and all required vaccinations but also submit a properly completed Form I-693 signed by a civil surgeon to prove they are in good health and not inadmissible on health-related grounds. Accordingly, the instructions for Form I-485 have been revised to explicitly require the simultaneous submission of both forms.
USCIS states that this change is intended to reduce the number of Requests for Evidence (RFE) issued before the adjudication of Form I-485, thereby improving processing efficiency.
Worldway Group reminds everyone that if you are filing an I-485 application on or after December 2, you must include the I-693 medical examination form.

For those interested in immigrating to the United States, please seize the current immigration window to apply. Choosing high-quality EB-5 projects and a capable agency is a solid guarantee on your immigration journey! Currently, two popular premium EB-5 projects on the market, for which Worldway serves as the exclusive agent in Greater China—the "Bryce Canyon Marriott Hotel" located in one of the top ten national parks in the U.S., and the "Grayson Hotel Hawaii" created by capital giants—are both high-quality rural EB-5 projects that have been strictly screened and vetted by Worldway Group, making them excellent choices for your rapid immigration to the United States.
According to the new EB-5 policy, applicants can perform "concurrent filing" in the United States. This means that applicants without a visa backlog can simultaneously file Form I-526E (Immigrant Petition by Regional Center Investor) and Form I-485 (Adjustment of Status), and can also apply for an Employment Authorization Document (I-765) and Advance Parole (I-131), known as a "Combo Card." This allows them to legally reside and live in the United States and enjoy the benefits of a "green card" in advance. Interested applicants should act now; the earlier you apply, the sooner you benefit!
