This means applicants will soon be able to check the status of their Form I-821 and Form I-485 via myProgress!
In addition to Form I-485 and Form I-821, myProgress is also available to applicants who have submitted Form I-765 (Application for Employment Authorization), Form I-131 (Application for Travel Document), Form N-400 (Application for Naturalization), Form I-90 (Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card), or Form I-130 (Petition for Alien Relative).
USCIS stated that the launch of myProgress aims to alleviate applicant concerns regarding their case status, thereby improving the customer experience. The statement reads: "This effort is part of the USCIS strategic plan to enhance the experience for those we serve. We anticipate that the expansion of myProgress will increase transparency in the case adjudication process."
What is myProgress?
The myProgress platform allows applicants to check the processing status of their cases through their online accounts, while also providing personalized estimated processing times. This tool generates an estimated timeline for the applicant’s specific case based on previous approval times for similar cases, including the date for a final decision. USCIS reminds applicants that individual cases vary and the tool cannot account for all factors that may cause processing delays; therefore, the estimated timeline is not guaranteed.
How do I use myProgress?
To view myProgress, applicants must first create a USCIS online account or sign into their existing account and select their pending application. If the application was filed electronically or linked using an online access code, relevant details will appear under the myProgress tab for that application.
The myProgress tab will display the estimated wait time for case approval, as well as various milestones throughout the case adjudication process.
If an applicant needs to submit an "Outside Normal Processing Time" inquiry, they must still visit the "Check Case Processing Times" webpage to confirm eligibility.
