Recently, the Community Malta Agency issued a new notice, officially including the applicant's stepparents in the list of eligible dependents. This means that stepparents can now accompany the main applicant or their spouse in applying for the Malta Permanent Residence Programme. The expansion of the scope of dependents for the Malta Permanent Residence Programme allows more family members to move to Malta together and start a new life, which is great news for investors!
The main details regarding the inclusion of stepparents are as follows:
1. Provided there is sufficient evidence to prove a genuine relationship between the stepparents and the main applicant or their spouse, stepparents may accompany the application for the Malta Permanent Residence Programme.
2. A genuine relationship between the stepparents and the main applicant or their spouse refers to:
1) The spouse of a biological parent who remarried while the main applicant or their spouse was still a minor;
2) The spouse of a biological parent who remarried before the main applicant or their spouse was married;
3) If the biological parents were divorced while the main applicant or their spouse was a minor, the new unmarried partner of the parent who held custody (it must be considered whether this new unmarried partner played an important role in the upbringing of the main applicant or their spouse).
3. Documents to prove the relationship between the stepparents and the main applicant or their spouse include, but are not limited to:
1) Bank transfer records between the main applicant or their spouse and the stepparents;
2) Joint accounts held by the main applicant or their spouse and the stepparents;
3) Airline tickets for trips taken together by the main applicant or their spouse and the stepparents;
4) Sworn affidavits from individuals who can attest to the relationship (such as mutual friends or relatives);
5) Household registration records (Hukou);
6) Any other documents that help to fully substantiate the relationship.
4. The aforementioned relationship proof documents must be prepared and submitted to the Agency for review in advance. Only after the relationship is recognized upon approval can the application for the Malta Permanent Residence Programme be submitted together.
Malta is one of the few countries in the world that is a "four-in-one" nation—a member of the European Union, the Schengen Area, the Eurozone, and the Commonwealth. Since its launch, its permanent residence program has been highly favored by domestic applicants. Even as European immigration policies have tightened overall, Malta has maintained a relatively relaxed immigration policy. Furthermore, the Community Malta Agency continues to introduce measures to provide more convenience for applicants, and now even stepparents can be included as dependents! Interested applicants should seize the opportunity and apply now.
Currently, to immigrate to Malta, applicants only need to invest from 60,000 Euros to enable four generations of the family to immigrate to Malta and obtain permanent residence status in one step! This program has no requirements for language, education, business background, or source of funds, making the application conditions simpler, the process easier, and the investment amount lower!
