Effective February 20, 2023, U.S. visa interview waiver applications from mainland China will no longer be uniformly processed by the U.S. Consulate General in Guangzhou. Your visa application materials will be submitted to the embassy or consulate corresponding to your consular district. To save your valuable time and avoid delays in your visa application, please ensure you select the correct embassy or consulate when completing your DS-160 form online. Please refer to the attached image for a breakdown of cities in each consular district in mainland China. For instance, if you are in Yunnan Province, please select "China, Beijing" on the DS-160 form.
Please note that interview waiver applications from the Wuhan consular district will continue to be processed by the U.S. Consulate General in Guangzhou until further notice. Applicants from the Wuhan consular district should select "China, Guangzhou" as the application location on the DS-160 form.
The U.S. visa interview waiver service allows applicants to skip the in-person interview at the embassy or consulate, simplifying the visa application process. This serves as great news for investors!
