Recently, Canada announced further easing of entry restrictions. Starting from April 25, 2022, fully vaccinated travelers and children will find it easier to enter the country.
The following border measures have taken effect:
1. Children aged 5 to 11 who are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated will no longer be required to complete a COVID-19 test prior to entering Canada when accompanied by fully vaccinated parents, stepparents, guardians, or mentors.
Currently, travelers aged 12 and above who are partially vaccinated or unvaccinated still need to undergo pre-entry testing. Children under 5 are not required to provide COVID-19 test results.
2. All fully vaccinated travelers will no longer need to provide a quarantine plan upon entry. This requirement will also be lifted for children aged 5 to 11 accompanied by fully vaccinated parents, stepparents, guardians, or mentors, as well as travelers with medical contraindications to COVID-19 vaccines.
3. Fully vaccinated travelers arriving in Canada on or after April 25, 2022, will no longer be required to perform the following actions within 14 days of arrival:
l Wear a mask in public places;
l Monitor and report any symptoms or signs;
l Isolate if another traveler in the same group shows symptoms or tests positive;
l Report close contacts and places visited.
However, it is important to note that some COVID-19 prevention measures in Canada remain in effect:
l Travelers must register their information through the ArriveCAN application;
l Unvaccinated individuals aged 12 and above still need to provide pre-entry testing reports;
l All travelers on flights, trains, or ships to and from Canada, regardless of vaccination status, must wear masks throughout their journey.
