What is the Joint Entrance Exam for Overseas Chinese Students? Many parents have likely heard of it. The full name is the "Joint Entrance Examination for Overseas Chinese and Students from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan by Regular Higher Education Institutions of the People's Republic of China." It is a specialized college entrance exam designed by the Ministry of Education of China specifically for overseas Chinese and students from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan. It is also the primary pathway for these students to apply to universities in mainland China, allowing them to easily enter top-tier universities such as those in the 985 and 211 projects and enjoy mainland higher education. It is known as the "Express Train to College" and has become one of the motivations for many parents to plan their residency status.
Compared to the standard National College Entrance Examination (Gaokao), although the Joint Entrance Exam for Overseas Chinese Students also requires taking an exam, the difficulty is much lower, and the admission score threshold is also significantly lower. Students can enter prestigious domestic universities with a score of around 400. In the official list of undergraduate institutions with a minimum admission score of 400 for the 2020 national joint enrollment, top-tier universities that domestic students dream of, such as Tsinghua University and Peking University, are included. For the same university, candidates for the Joint Entrance Exam for Overseas Chinese Students are more likely to be admitted compared to standard Gaokao candidates!

Furthermore, according to the "Notice on the Revision of the National Joint Enrollment Examination Syllabus" previously released by the Guangdong Education Examination Authority, this year's Joint Entrance Exam for Overseas Chinese Students will see multiple benefits, such as reducing the content of the mathematics subject and increasing the point value of multiple-choice questions in various subjects to lower the difficulty of the exam. This means that this year's Joint Entrance Exam for Overseas Chinese Students is even simpler than before!

Due to the significant advantages of the overseas Chinese student status, many domestic parents have seen the opportunity. To provide their children with an overseas Chinese student status and allow them to easily pass the Joint Entrance Exam to attend prestigious domestic universities, many parents choose to immigrate abroad. Education planning for children should be done early. Are you ready?
According to current policies, if you want your children to participate in the Joint Entrance Exam for Overseas Chinese Students, parents must start preparing their immigration application at least when their children are in middle school, and they must reserve 18 months, or one and a half years, for their children to study abroad.
One of the conditions for registering for the Joint Entrance Exam for Overseas Chinese Students is: the candidate and at least one parent must have obtained long-term or permanent residency in the country of residence and have resided there continuously for 2 years, with a cumulative stay of no less than 18 months within those two years. Currently, investors can apply for the Portugal Golden Residence Permit by purchasing properties that are over 30 years old or located in urban renewal areas and renovating them, with a total value exceeding 350,000 Euros; or by purchasing real estate (including land resources, residential properties, commercial properties, etc.) with a value of no less than 500,000 Euros. This allows three generations of the family to apply for the Portugal Golden Residence status and plan for the children's future in advance.

In addition to the Portugal Golden Residence Permit program, the Greece Investment Immigration program is also a good choice. For example, by investing in Greece, you only need to purchase property worth 250,000 Euros or more to apply for permanent residency in Greece for three generations of the family in one step, planning for the children's future in advance.

In fact, whether it is immigration through property purchase in Portugal or Greece, it is an investment with multiple returns. Not only can you acquire property or land with permanent ownership, but you can also apply for permanent residency in an EU country for three generations of your family, allowing your family to enjoy an international European lifestyle at any time, and even more importantly, giving your children an overseas Chinese student status to fulfill their dream of easily attending prestigious domestic universities.
