According to Dominica News Online, recently, Minister of Tourism Dennis Charles announced that the Ministry of Tourism has set an ambitious goal to attract 200,000 visiting tourists by 2025.
To ensure the achievement of this goal, Dominica will vigorously develop five areas: agritourism, water tourism, health tourism, adventure and major events tourism, and recreational tourism.
Minister Charles stated that agritourism is a new field, and the Ministry of Tourism will establish a committee to determine plans and policies. The traditional World Creole Music Festival and Carnival celebrations in Dominica have been very successful and popular. The Ministry of Tourism will also collaborate with some rural groups to establish a Pork Festival, Rabbit Festival, and Seafood Festival, allowing tourists, especially those from the Caribbean region, to visit Dominica on weekends and participate in these festivals, attracting many visitors, increasing hotel occupancy rates, and experiencing the local natural scenery, culture, and cuisine.
Located in the Caribbean Sea south of Miami, United States, Dominica is known as "America's Second Home" and "The Pearl of the Caribbean," earning the reputation of "The Nature Island of the Caribbean." It is one of the preferred destinations for eco-tourism. The island boasts a warm climate and rich natural resources, including water resources, forests, fruits, herbs, plants, and animals. Most of the island is covered by tropical rainforests, accompanied by hundreds of waterfalls, rivers, and lakes, making it a favorite among outdoor sports enthusiasts and investors looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life.
Dominica was successfully included in National Geographic's list of "Best Travel Destinations of 2021," being rated as one of the "Best Adventure Destinations in the World for 2021," and is the only country in the Caribbean to make the list. National Geographic highlighted Dominica's dense rainforests, active volcanoes, 365 rivers, black sand beaches, towering waterfalls, and boiling lake with temperatures close to 200 degrees Celsius in the "Adventure" category, making it highly favored by adventure tourists.
In fact, Dominica is not only favored by adventure tourists but also attracts the attention of high-net-worth investors. The Dominica Citizenship by Investment Act has been operating smoothly since its enactment in 1993. The Dominica Citizenship by Investment program is popular among investors due to its low investment threshold, no interview requirements, no immigration monitoring, no landing procedures, and a short application processing time of about 2-3 months, along with the advantage of visa-free access to over 140 countries and regions. Currently, investors can apply for a Commonwealth of Dominica passport for their entire family across four generations by donating a minimum of $100,000 to the Dominica National Government Fund and paying the relevant government fees, enjoying the benefits of Commonwealth citizenship!
