Recently, the New Brunswick (NB) Provincial Nominee Program announced changes to its entrepreneur immigration stream, shifting from a model of direct permanent residency to a work permit-first model, where applicants must complete their business venture before transitioning to permanent residency. At the same time, the former New Brunswick Entrepreneurial Stream has been renamed the New Brunswick Business Immigration stream.
According to the regulations, applicants who have already received an invitation may continue their application through the entrepreneur category immigration pathway, while those who have not yet received an invitation must submit a new application.
New Policy Application Requirements
1. Age 21-59;
2. Household net worth of at least 500,000 CAD;
3. High school education or above;
4. CLB 5 or IELTS 5;
5. At least 3 years of business ownership or senior management experience within the past five years;
6. Investment of at least 150,000 CAD and operation for at least 1 year;
7. Creation of 1 full-time job opportunity;
8. Settlement in New Brunswick.
In fact, in recent years, several Canadian provincial nominee entrepreneur programs have shifted from the direct permanent residency model to the work permit-to-permanent residency model. The policy change in the New Brunswick Entrepreneurial Stream also signifies that the era of work permit-first immigration has arrived across Canada!
This serves as another warning that one must immigrate early; avoid waiting and hesitating, or gambling with your future. Applicants who planned to immigrate to Canada directly through the New Brunswick Entrepreneurial Stream but failed to take actual action can only sigh in regret.
For immigration, the best time is always now. If you do not want to miss a good opportunity, act early. We remind investors that the popular Ontario Employer Job Offer stream is also about to undergo policy adjustments: shifting from a system of no IELTS requirement and first-come-first-served registration to an EOI scoring system. This means that a merit-based selection mechanism will raise the minimum threshold, competition among applicants will become more intense, and scores will become a new challenge.
Since its launch, the Ontario Employer Job Offer stream has been highly sought after by investors due to its multiple advantages, such as no language requirements, fast approval speed, direct permanent residency, no asset requirements, and no need to explain the source of funds. For investors, the only option is to act quickly. The countdown to the implementation of the EOI scoring system for the Ontario Employer Job Offer stream has begun; there is no time to lose to catch the last train for Ontario immigration without an IELTS requirement.
