Recently, the Government of Canada announced new entry regulations: starting January 7, anyone arriving in Canada aged 5 and older must provide a negative COVID-19 nucleic acid test report taken within 3 days prior to boarding. Proof must be submitted to the airline before boarding.
In addition, presenting a negative test result at boarding is unrelated to the mandatory quarantine regulations upon arrival in Canada. Even travelers with a negative test result must complete a mandatory 14-day quarantine upon entering Canada. All air travelers must submit a quarantine plan upon entry; if the quarantine plan does not meet the review standards of the Canada Border Services Agency, they will be required to quarantine at a "federal facility."
This policy applies to all air travelers entering Canada from around the world, including Canadian citizens, Canadian residents, and other temporary residents who need to enter Canada (such as those holding study or work permits).
