When it comes to the most influential regional organizations in the world today, the European Union is certainly one of them. The EU currently has 27 member states, a total population of approximately 500 million, and a GDP of about 15 trillion US dollars. It can be called a union of countries with strong economic strength and a high degree of integration, having formed a 'European' scale with significant competitiveness. There are two indicators for the development of European integration: one is expansion, and the other is deepening. In fact, for the sake of stability in the European region, the EU's path of expansion has never stopped in recent years, and it has even taken measures to accelerate the 'eastward expansion' process!

The EU's path of expansion
In 1951, France, Italy, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and the Federal Republic of Germany signed the Treaty of Paris to establish the 'European Coal and Steel Community'. In 1965, the six countries signed the Treaty of Brussels, merging the three aforementioned community institutions into one, collectively known as the 'European Communities'. After the Maastricht Treaty came into effect in 1993, it was collectively referred to as the 'European Union'.
◆ In 1973, the UK, Ireland, and Denmark joined the EU
◆ In 1981, Greece joined the EU
◆ In 1986, Spain and Portugal joined the EU
◆ In 1995, Austria, Sweden, and Finland joined the EU
◆ In 2004, Cyprus, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Slovakia, and Slovenia joined the EU
◆ In 2007, Bulgaria and Romania joined the EU
◆ In 2013, Croatia joined the EU

The EU initiates a new round of eastward expansion negotiations, targeting the Western Balkans
In recent years, the EU has attached great importance to the issue of eastward expansion. Now that Brexit has become a fait accompli, the EU urgently needs fresh blood. As one of the options to revitalize the EU's internal centripetal force and external influence, the topic of expansion is constant! In February 2018, the European Commission held a meeting to address Brexit and proposed a new round of eastward expansion! In April of the same year, the EU launched a new round of eastward expansion negotiations and requested the Council of the European Union to initiate the relevant process. The eastward expansion plan launched this time targets the Western Balkans! Leaders within the EU responsible for expansion affairs frequently travel between the EU headquarters and Balkan countries, on one hand, to repeatedly reaffirm the EU's sincerity, and on the other, to actively urge countries in the Balkan region to meet the threshold for accession as soon as possible.
It is noteworthy that Montenegro, an EU candidate country currently in the final negotiation chapters with the EU, has already 'aligned' with the EU in various standards. It is worth noting that in the expansion strategy document for the Western Balkans, the EU stated that it would do its best to facilitate the early accession of countries that have already started accession negotiations, such as Montenegro and Serbia. It can be said that this expansion strategy released by the European Commission explicitly clarifies the timeframe for Montenegro to join the EU by 2025, provided that the conditions are met.

On the path of EU eastward expansion, Montenegro is in an advantageous position and has received strong support from numerous EU and member state officials
Currently, many high-ranking EU officials are optimistic about Montenegro, stating that it will be the first country in the Western Balkans to join the EU. It can be said that Montenegro is in a very advantageous position on the EU's new path of eastward expansion! Recently, Slovak Minister of Defense Jaroslav Nad stated in an interview with the media: 'The new European Commission has announced that during its term, it hopes that at least one country will join the EU, and Montenegro is the candidate country with the best chance of joining.' It is worth noting that the new European Commission was formed in 2019 with a 5-year term, meaning Montenegro could join the EU before 2024, further accelerating the process!
In August 2020, Slovak Minister of Defense Jaroslav Nad stated during an official visit to Montenegro: 'In the long run, Montenegro has always been one of the most stable countries in the Western Balkans. I believe that by the next round of talks, Montenegro will be a full member of the EU.'
In October 2019, Matthew Palmer, a senior official at the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, said: 'Montenegro is the leader in the process of joining the EU in the Western Balkans!'

In April 2018, then-President of the European Council Donald Tusk stated during his visit to the Western Balkans: 'Montenegro has successfully led the EU integration process and has become a model for Western Balkan countries on the road to accession!'

Montenegro's accession to the EU is accelerating; the time-limited and quota-restricted Montenegro Citizenship by Investment Program is a convenient way to quickly obtain an EU passport. Invest early.
Recently, the major news that caught the immigration industry and global investors off guard is that the Cyprus Investment Programme (CIP) was officially closed on November 1, 2020! This means that investors will lose the most direct and convenient way to obtain an EU passport! After the closure of the Cyprus Investment Programme, the time-limited and quota-restricted Montenegro Citizenship by Investment Program has become an excellent choice for quickly obtaining a future EU passport!
As a country intending to join the EU, the launch of the Montenegro Citizenship by Investment Program has opened up a convenient path for investors to obtain EU citizenship in the future, at which point the Montenegro passport held may be upgraded to an EU passport! The Montenegro Citizenship by Investment Program runs for a total of 3 years, from January 1, 2019, to December 31, 2021, and legislation stipulates that only 2,000 application quotas are accepted! As of now, the number of real estate investment citizenship quotas approved by the Montenegrin government has exceeded 1,000, which is more than half of the total quota. Seizing the quota is urgent! At the same time, there is only about 1 year left until the statutory investment deadline for the Montenegro Citizenship by Investment Program. For investors with needs, action must be taken early before Montenegro joins the EU!

Great news! Currently, the investment citizenship projects approved by the Montenegrin government—'Bjelasica 1450 Hotel' and 'Breza Hotel'—are immigration projects with relatively short investment periods in the European investment immigration market. There is no holding period restriction, and investors can freely resell after the transfer of ownership, which is highly sought after! Starting from 350,000 euros, you can not only acquire real estate with permanent property rights but also apply for a Montenegro passport, an EU candidate country, for the whole family, achieving a win-win for overseas real estate and overseas status!
