According to the latest Daft.ie housing price report, the average house price in Ireland rose by nearly 5% in the third quarter of 2020. The report states that from June to September, the average price of homes listed for sale across Ireland increased by 4.8%, with house prices in Waterford rising by 11%, Galway by 10%, Cork and Limerick by 9%, and Dublin's average house price increasing by 2.2%. The average increase in other regions was 5.8%.
The author of the report, economist Ronan Lyons from Trinity College, stated that the surge in house prices "is not entirely unexpected" due to the fact that, as of the beginning of this month, the number of properties available for purchase in the housing market in Ireland has decreased by nearly one-third over the past year, totaling less than 17,700, reaching the lowest level in 14 years. This highlights the increasingly severe housing shortage, making now a potentially optimal time for the Irish government to invest in housing.
Lyons said: "Like many other high-income countries, Ireland's housing market has not been significantly disrupted by the pandemic, which has not altered the long-term upward trend in housing prices."
As a "springboard" for overseas investors entering the European market, Ireland has attracted numerous investors to immigrate here due to its beautiful and suitable environment, highly developed economy, advanced healthcare system, excellent education, and generous social welfare. With the continuous rise in house prices, Ireland, which is experiencing a rapid economic recovery, may attract even more investors.
Currently, investors can immigrate to Ireland by donating €500,000 to a government-approved donation program (with group donations reduced to €400,000), allowing the entire family to apply for Irish residency.
Advantages of Immigrating to Ireland:
1. As an EU member state, after immigrating to Ireland and obtaining citizenship, the applicant's entire family can become EU citizens, enjoying visa-free travel worldwide and the freedom to reside in 27 EU countries;
2. Ireland's economy is clearly accelerating, being a highly livable "Emerald Isle" with one of the lowest corporate tax rates in Europe at 12.5%, making it very suitable for business, residence, and living;
3. Ireland has high-quality educational resources. In the 2017 IMD World Competitiveness Ranking, Ireland's education system ranked seventh in the world. The government provides free primary and secondary education to residents of Ireland, and children of eligible investors who obtain a Stamp 4 visa through investment immigration can enjoy this benefit.
