Document Checklist for U.S. Tourist Visa
Proof of Identity
Mainland China Private Passport
Must meet the following 5 requirements:
1. Valid for at least 6 months after the end of the trip;
2. If an expired U.S. visa is in an old passport, please provide the original old passport;
3. At least 2 blank visa pages, excluding the remarks page;
4. For older versions of passports, please sign the last page; minors may have their parents sign on their behalf (do not use pencil);
5. Passports with a U.S. visa refusal record within the last 6 months will not be accepted;
Photograph
1. One color photograph (5.1cm x 5.1cm) with a white background taken within the last 6 months (write your name on the back of the photo with a pencil);
2. Applicants must not wear glasses or colored contact lenses in the photo, unless in special cases where the applicant provides medical documentation;
3. Bangs must not cover the eyebrows; the photo must include the entire face, ears, neck, and shoulders;
4. Must not be digitally processed, enhanced, retouched, or contain any visual effects caused by graininess or compression;
5. Do not provide photos used on previous U.S. visas;
Copy of ID Card
1. Provide a color scan of the front and back of the ID card, which must be valid after the end of the trip; applicants under 16 years of age are not required to provide this if they do not have one.
Color Scan of the Entire Household Register (Hukou)
1. A complete color scan (scanned continuously up to the first blank page);
2. For collective household registers, please provide color scans of the collective register cover page and your personal page;
Proof of Personal Background
Personal Resume in English
It is recommended to provide a personal resume in English;
Proof of Travel
Travel Itinerary
It is recommended to provide a full travel itinerary in English.
Materials for Traveling Companions
If a companion holds their own visa, provide a copy of their passport information page and a copy of their valid visa page.
Proof of Assets
Scanned Copies of Asset Proof
Supporting materials such as property ownership certificates, vehicle registration certificates, employment and income verification, and bank deposit certificates may also be provided.
