Montenegro Travel Guide
“At the dawn of the Earth, the most beautiful encounter between land and sea must be the coast of Montenegro,” the British Romantic poet Lord Byron once praised Montenegro. However, in China, Montenegro, full of romantic and mysterious atmosphere, is little known. Montenegro is a continental European country on the Mediterranean coast, located in the Balkan Peninsula in southeastern Europe, north of Greece, and across the sea from Italy; it is a representative of high-end European vacation destinations, known as the “Monaco” of the Balkan Peninsula in Europe.
The beautiful bay “Bay of Kotor”
With blue seas and white sandy beaches, the Bay of Kotor is deeply embedded inland along the deep and winding Adriatic Sea bay, surrounded by deep green mountains. Located at the innermost part of the bay, Kotor is an old town with a strong medieval atmosphere. It was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1979 and is one of the cities that has relatively well-preserved the original appearance of a medieval old town. In 2016, it was named the world’s best tourist city by Lonely Planet.
Since ancient times, Kotor has been considered a natural fortress city and has a history of being ruled by various major Eastern and Western powers. In the old stone alleys, there are mansions of nobles who gained wealth through trade during the Venetian rule. At the same time, in summer, it is also a popular stop for Mediterranean cruise ships and is deeply loved by tourists from all over the world.
Millennium Ancient City — Budva
Facing the Adriatic Sea, Budva is one of the better beach travel destinations in Central Europe, with a beautiful coastline of over 11 kilometers, famous for its beautiful sandy beaches, rich nightlife, and unique Mediterranean-style architecture. Budva has a long history, dating back to the 5th century BC. Under the rule of Ancient Greece, Ancient Rome, and the Republic of Venice, it is an ancient city along the Adriatic coast.
The beautiful scenery of this village with orange roofs is a masterpiece of the Republic of Venice, which ruled this land for 400 years starting from the Middle Ages. The sturdy city walls built to prepare for the invasion of the Ottoman Empire still surround the village.

World-renowned Sveti Stefan Island
Sveti Stefan Island is located about 6 kilometers southeast of Budva, by the Adriatic Sea. Due to its beautiful scenery and clear water, it has gradually developed into a world-renowned vacation destination. This small island is connected to the mainland by an isthmus, and the island is dotted with hotels, resorts, and houses with terracotta roofs.

Sveti Stefan Island is not only a world-renowned vacation destination but also favored by celebrities from all walks of life. Elizabeth Taylor, Marilyn Monroe, Princess Margaret of the United Kingdom, King Umberto II of Italy, famous actors Sophia Loren, Charlie Chaplin, Sylvester Stallone, great writers Malo and Moravia, Soviet astronaut Yuri Gagarin, and international chess master Robert Fischer are all frequent visitors here.
Filming location of the movie “The Bridge” — Tara River Canyon
Tara River Canyon, the first in Europe and the second largest in the world, is majestic and steep, with 80 kilometers within Montenegro. Most importantly, there is the famous Tara River Canyon Bridge. This bridge was built between 1938 and 1940, and at the time of its completion, it was the largest concrete arch bridge for roads in Europe. The former Yugoslavian movie “The Bridge,” which was once popular in China, was filmed here.
World ski resort — Kolašin
Kolašin is a city in northern Montenegro, located in central Montenegro at an altitude of 950 meters, surrounded by numerous national parks and forests. The unpolluted natural environment makes it a well-known health resort, very suitable for relaxation, entertainment, and sports. Kolašin is also a ski resort in Montenegro, attracting many ski enthusiasts every year.
As one of the few countries that uses tourism as a pillar industry of the national economy, Montenegro has always focused on the development of tourism, and its tourism industry has achieved leapfrog development. It has attracted many tourism enthusiasts to visit continuously. Official data from Montenegro shows that there were 14.5 million overnight stays in 2019, and revenue from domestic and foreign tourists reached approximately 1.1 billion euros. Currently, Montenegro has numerous investment opportunities. While traveling in Montenegro, taking the opportunity to explore the Montenegrin market is a wise choice.

“Breza Hotel” is located in the city center of Kolašin, a city in northern Montenegro. Kolašin is known as an “oxygen bar with hot springs.” At the same time, as a mature tourist area in Montenegro, Kolašin is known as one of the “Top 10 Ski Resorts in Europe,” where you can hike, climb, cycle, fish, and go rafting in the Tara River Canyon, attracting many tourists every year. The influx of tourists makes hotels in this area in short supply and fully booked every day. Guests basically need to book rooms a long time in advance. You can imagine the market potential of hotels in Kolašin.

“Breza Hotel” has a superior location, surrounded by beautiful primeval forests and the Tara River (a UNESCO World Natural and Cultural Heritage site), known as the “Tears of Europe,” and is close to the two major ski centers, Kolašin 1450 and Kolašin 1600. Furthermore, the project is 72 kilometers from Podgorica International Airport. Currently, the North-South Highway project built by Chinese companies is nearing completion. It is expected that after the highway is opened, it may achieve “same-city” transportation distance with the capital of Montenegro.
