According to recent news from the official website of the Government of Montenegro, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice Zoran Pažin emphasized at the opening ceremony of the Regional Forum on Judicial Cooperation, held in Budva from December 16 to 17, 2019, that the Government of Montenegro has contributed to regional and broader international judicial cooperation by strengthening bilateral legal assistance treaties, further harmonizing national legislation, and reinforcing institutions.
The Deputy Prime Minister recalled that the key documents of the European Commission, namely the 2019 Montenegro Report and the working documents on Chapters 23 and 24, recognize the Forum's contribution to strengthening regional judicial cooperation in criminal, civil, and commercial matters.

The Regional Forum was organized by the Ministry of Justice of Montenegro in cooperation with the International Development Law Organization (IDLO) and the Government of Montenegro, serving as the central annual event in the Western Balkans on the topic of international judicial cooperation.
