Recently, Prime Minister of Montenegro, Duško Marković, and Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Zoran Zaev, emphasized at a meeting held in Podgorica that Montenegro and North Macedonia have established good bilateral relations, and the process of both countries integrating into the European Union is irreplaceable.
Prime Minister Marković pointed out: "Our bilateral relations are very good, we have no unresolved issues, and the work we need to cooperate on is to work together for the benefit of the country and the entire region." The meeting discussed further integration of the two countries with Europe. Both sides emphasized the hope to strengthen unity within the EU as soon as possible and consider new negotiation situations, so that the integration process of the Western Balkans into the EU can develop in a more positive direction. The Prime Minister emphasized that regardless of the process the EU undertakes, Montenegro will fully fulfill its reform obligations according to the agenda of joining the EU.
This once again reflects Montenegro's determination to join the EU and the continuous efforts being made. Previously, according to news reports from the Montenegrin government website, Deputy Prime Minister Zoran Pažin stated during a meeting with the Chairman of the European Affairs Committee of the German Bundestag: "Montenegro can set an example for successfully adopting European values and rules in the Western Balkans. Montenegro has now officially become a member of NATO, is a leader in the European integration process, and is also one of the fastest-growing economies in Europe."
