Recently, according to the General Secretariat of the Government of Montenegro, Montenegro's Chief Negotiator Aleksandar Drljević visited Brussels and conveyed Montenegro's firm commitment to joining the European Union to Tonino Picula, the European Parliament's rapporteur for Montenegro. He recalled that the Montenegrin government and all institutions involved in the negotiation process have been working tirelessly to secure a place for Montenegro in the EU. At the same time, the meeting discussed the European Parliament's support for the EU's enlargement policy, noting that Montenegro should continue to maintain its good pace of reform implementation in order to become the next member of the EU.
Tonino Picula, the European Parliament's rapporteur for Montenegro, expressed his pleasure in seeing that Montenegro is the fastest progressing among all candidate countries negotiating with the EU. He emphasized that during his tenure, he would be committed to strengthening the relationship between Montenegro and the EU, and that he would advocate in the European Parliament for the principle of timely progress based on the results achieved by each country.

A Preferred Country for Identity Planning and Overseas Asset Allocation
The official launch of the Montenegro Citizenship by Investment Program opens a pathway for investors to obtain EU citizenship in the future, at which point holding a Montenegrin passport will be upgraded to an EU passport. Among the countries currently offering citizenship by investment programs, Montenegro is an EU candidate country from the EU enlargement region that uses the Euro as its legal tender. Its citizenship by investment program offers advantages such as fast approval, short processing cycles, eligibility to apply for the U.S. E-2 visa, and investment assets denominated in Euros, making it an excellent destination for investors to conduct identity planning, overseas business, and asset allocation!
Government-Approved Project - The Westin Resort
Currently, the Montenegrin government has selected and approved the Westin Resort as the first project for the citizenship by investment program through a public tender, with a total quota of 240 investors. The hotel is located at the Kolašin 1450 Ski Center in northern Montenegro, adjacent to the ski slopes, and is a four-star hotel with permanent property rights. There are currently no competing products of the same level in the surrounding area, and it can be sold or transferred after 5 years.
Starting from 350,000 Euros, apply for a passport from the EU candidate country of Montenegro, and the purchased property can be sold after five years. For investors, this is a win-win choice; not only can they allocate Euro assets, but they can also obtain citizenship in the EU candidate country of Montenegro.
