British Columbia (BC), also known as the Province of British Columbia, is one of Canada’s four western provinces. British Columbia has a mild climate, and most of its area is covered by forest.
Since the provincial nominee programs are established based on the local economic and employment development needs, most of the programs are employer-driven, specifically employer-sponsored immigration policies. The BC Provincial Nominee Program also falls under this category. Employer-sponsored immigration programs first require applicants to obtain a valid job offer from a local employer who is willing to hire the applicant and sponsor them to become a permanent resident of Canada.
1. The BC Provincial Nominee Program is generally divided into the following categories:
EEBC Express Entry Skilled Worker Category
EEBC Express Entry International Graduate Category
Skilled Worker Category
International Graduate Category
Low-Skilled Occupation Category
Technology Sector Category
Healthcare Sector Category
BC Entrepreneur Immigration Category
BC Remote Area Entrepreneur Category
2. BC Provincial Nominee Scoring Requirements
Whether it is the EEBC Express Entry program or the regular BCPNP program, the scoring criteria, approval time, and processing procedures are the same. The scoring criteria are mainly divided into six categories: guaranteed position, guaranteed salary, work location, education level, work experience, and language proficiency. The first three categories mainly come from employer sponsorship, accounting for 120 points, while the last three categories are based on the applicant's own factors, accounting for 80 points, with a total score of 200 points. Therefore, the importance of employer sponsorship is evident. The current selection score for the international student category is around 95 points, while the skilled worker category is around 85 points.
