WorldWay Group has learned that last November, Quebec Premier Francois Legault stated his position to reduce the immigration quota by 20% and indicated that the provincial government had begun advancing related work. However, in just half a year, the ruling CAQ party in Quebec has made a sharp turn on immigration policy, announcing that it will gradually increase the number of immigrants to Quebec.

Recently, a new Quebec immigration information document revealed that Quebec will increase its annual immigration quota by approximately 3,000 to 4,000, with the goal of restoring the quota to 52,000 by 2022, thereby better addressing the persistent issue of labor shortages in Quebec.

Regarding the issue of the immigration quota increasing rather than decreasing, Legault explained that the previously mentioned "20% reduction in immigration quota" was actually just a temporary measure. At the same time, Legault also stated, "We want Quebec to leave an impression of being open and tolerant. This policy of reducing and then increasing is also intended to select high-quality immigrants most likely to bring development opportunities to Quebec."

It is worth noting that this proposal has not yet been fully passed, and Quebec still needs to further discuss and vote on it in the National Assembly on August 15. However, based on current voices from all sides and the labor shortage situation in Quebec, this proposal is viewed favorably. WorldWay Group will also closely monitor the latest progress of the proposal and provide updates as soon as possible.

Of course, for investors, it is a wise move to seize the opportunity, confirm the quota, and submit the application as soon as possible.
