Since 2006, the University of Miami has lowered its requirements for students' English proficiency, placing more emphasis on students' academic abilities. A new TOEFL score of 79 or above is no longer one of the necessary conditions for students applying to the University of Miami. If a student has strong academic abilities but a low English score, they can enroll in the English enhancement training courses specifically offered by the University of Miami, as long as they can achieve a new TOEFL score of 79 by the end of the course.
