Worldway Group has learned that according to the Cyprus Gaming and Casino Supervision Commission, as of the end of January 2019, approximately 470,000 people had visited the three casinos in Cyprus, with gambling turnover reaching 210 million euros.
The chairman of the commission stated that between June 2018 and January 2019, winners won 175 million euros, while operators earned 35 million euros and paid 5.25 million euros in taxes to the state. In addition, 4 million euros in licensing fees were paid to the state.
The first casino opened in Limassol in June 2018, followed by two more in Nicosia and Larnaca in December. Currently, 80% of the players are Cypriot, 4% are Greek, and 11% are from other countries.
It is understood that the commission has received an application from a tour operator interested in bringing foreign players to Cyprus. It is expected that as the 550 million euro project nears completion, more such applications will follow, and the casino resort in Limassol is expected to attract 300,000 tourists annually when it opens in 2021.

These four cities are world-renowned for their gambling industries, having developed vast tourism, shopping, and resort industries centered around gambling, becoming world-famous vacation destinations and ranking among the most developed and affluent regions in the world.
