When it comes to the most popular countries or regions for immigration applicants today, Europe and the Americas are undoubtedly at the forefront. Countries in the Americas, such as the United States and Canada, have always been highly sought-after immigration destinations. In recent years, however, Europe has become increasingly popular among more immigration applicants due to its leading global position in terms of economy, politics, environment, culture, and education. Therefore, immigrating to Europe has become a common choice for many. However, since many European countries have introduced immigration policies, which country should you choose when immigrating to Europe?
A relatively important reference standard for choosing a country is the immigration cost of each European nation! Price significantly influences an applicant's preference for an immigration destination, making it a subject worthy of study.
Currently, the most popular mainstream European countries for immigration include the United Kingdom, Ireland, Portugal, Spain, Cyprus, Greece, Malta, and Italy.
For UK immigration, according to current policies, the Tier 1 Investor visa requires purchasing UK government bonds at three different levels: £2 million, £5 million, and £10 million. In terms of capital requirements, this is the highest among all European countries, but if funding is not an issue, immigrating to the UK is quite straightforward.
However, the UK also offers an Entrepreneur visa that requires only £200,000. The capital requirement is much lower than that of the investor visa, and applicants can apply for UK immigration by starting a business in the country.
For Ireland immigration, the most common method is the Immigrant Investor Programme (IIP). Applicants are required to invest €1 million in government-approved projects and must provide proof of assets worth €2 million, of which at least €1 million must be liquid assets. However, Ireland also offers various other immigration options, such as a financing model requiring only €280,000.
For Malta immigration, applicants are required to have an annual income of over €100,000 or assets exceeding €500,000; invest €250,000 in A-rated government bonds, which are returned with interest after five years; and purchase or lease a property that meets government requirements, to be held for 5 years.
For Cyprus immigration, applicants must be at least 18 years old and have no criminal record. Purchasing one or more properties with a total value of over €2 million allows one to obtain an EU passport. Apart from the high price requirement, other thresholds such as language and education are very low.
Additionally, Cyprus also has a program where purchasing property worth €300,000 allows one to obtain a Cyprus permanent residence permit, which is also an excellent choice.
For Greece immigration, applicants only need to purchase property in Greece with a net value of €250,000 or more (the property must be approved by the authorities) to apply for immigration.
For Italy immigration, it is required to purchase property in Italy worth €300,000 or more.
For Portugal immigration, it is required that the applicant purchases property in Portugal worth €500,000 or more.
For Spain immigration, similar to Portugal, it is required that the applicant purchases property in Spain worth €500,000 or more.
Based on the summary above, which European country are you more inclined toward? We would like to remind everyone that if you want to immigrate to Europe, while price is a very important reference factor, you should also make your choice by combining the actual situation of each country with your own personal circumstances.
