If your visa is still valid or the expiration date has not exceeded 48 months, you can apply for a U.S. visa renewal! The U.S. visa renewal process is generally similar to the initial application process; first, prepare the renewal materials, then apply and submit on the website. Let’s take a look at the list of materials required for U.S. visa renewal.
All Applicants:
1. Passport: The passport must be valid for at least six months beyond the intended stay in the U.S.
2. Application Form: DS-160 application form confirmation page.
3. One Photo: A 2-inch square (51mm x 51mm) color passport photo taken within the last six months with a white background.
4. Receipt number for the visa fee payment (or other documents proving the visa fee has been paid).
Children Under 14 Years Old:
1. A copy of the child's birth certificate.
2. A handwritten statement of the child's purpose of travel to the U.S., including the contact information of the U.S. inviter and their relationship to the child.
3. A copy of the parents' passport personal information page or ID card.
4. A copy of the parents' current and/or previous U.S. visas (if any).
5. If traveling in a group, also submit: A travel itinerary in English, a statement of travel purpose, a list of group members' names, birth dates, and passport numbers, and a copy of the guardian's U.S. visa (if any).
Please Note:
If one or both parents apply for the visa in person at the embassy/consulate (not through a courier service), the parents need to schedule an interview in the child's name and submit the child's application at the time of their own application. An adult applicant may bring no more than five minor applications to the interview; if there are more than five minors in the group, the applications must be submitted through a courier service.
