According to Greek media reports, Greek Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos stated in a recent interview that he hopes Asian investors will take advantage of Greece's economic recovery to seize new opportunities for investment and development. He pointed out: "Currently, there are numerous investment opportunities in Greece, ranging from real estate and the natural gas market to agricultural products and the chemical industry."
Following Greece's exit from its bailout program this August, the country has turned a new page in its history. Tsakalotos called on Asian countries to look toward investing in Greece.
On October 1, the Greek Ministry of Finance submitted the 2019 draft budget to the Greek Parliament, which forecasts that the Greek economy will grow by 2.1% this year and 2.5% in 2019.
In the interview, Tsakalotos spoke highly of the COSCO Piraeus Port project, stating that Piraeus Port is an important hub for entry into Europe from China and Asia, and that COSCO Shipping's investment in the port is a model of harmonious coexistence and mutual benefit for both sides.
In addition to the COSCO Piraeus project, many Chinese companies are also deeply cultivating the Greek market.
