The eligibility requirements for Tsinghua University international student (undergraduate) admissions in 2018 are as follows:
1) Foreign citizens with good conduct, good health, and an educational background equivalent to a Chinese high school diploma.
2) Excellent academic performance; please provide proof of grades (including but not limited to):
a) Official transcripts provided by the school of the highest degree obtained (original and notarized Chinese or English translation);
b) National/regional unified high school graduation examination transcripts;
c) Internationally recognized standardized test scores (such as SAT/ACT/A-Level/AP/IB, etc.).
3) Must be 18 years of age or older by September 1, 2018; applicants under 18 must submit relevant supporting documents upon enrollment.
4) Chinese language proficiency:
a) Chinese proficiency must reach HSK Level 5 or above, with each subject scoring 60 or higher;
b) Applicants with a minimum HSK Level 4 can also apply, but must reach HSK Level 5 or above (with each subject scoring 60 or higher) within one year after enrollment, otherwise their admission qualification will be cancelled;
c) Applicants whose native language is Chinese or who used Chinese as the medium of instruction in high school may be exempted from providing HSK scores upon approval by our university.
5) Good English proficiency: Applicants whose native language is not English must provide proof of English proficiency such as TOEFL/IELTS scores.
6) For those who were originally Chinese citizens and later acquired foreign nationality, our university implements Document No. 83 [2009] of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China.
