As one of Canada's golden immigration pathways, the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) is a mature, stable, and long-standing project. It is one of the few representative Canadian programs that allows for quick landing and convenient immigration, and it has been highly favored by investors since its launch.
The minimum EOI score has remained at 80 for three consecutive times, significantly lowering the investment threshold
However, because the success rates for SINP applications from 2013 to 2015 were 45.36%, 32.32%, and 29.81% respectively, many applicants were deterred. After Saskatchewan implemented the EOI scoring system in March 2015, many regained hope. Yet, in the early stages of the policy, the selection scores were relatively high, and many applicants remained on the sidelines. The Saskatchewan immigration office quickly recognized this issue and corrected it in a timely manner. Since 2016, EOI scores have been trending lower, and in 2017, the minimum EOI score has remained at 80 for three consecutive times, significantly lowering the investment threshold and attracting an increasing number of investors.
Summary of Historical Scores
Lowered threshold ignites investor enthusiasm
As EOI scores continue to decrease and the investment threshold drops significantly, the number of applicants for the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program has also seen a massive surge. As shown in the chart above, the number of selected candidates jumped 10-fold from 14 to 142 in May, and by the latest EOI selection in October, the number reached 265, indicating that many investors are very optimistic about the Saskatchewan investment immigration program.
On the other hand, the federal immigration authorities have recently been introducing new benefits. Since the official implementation of the new Citizenship Act (Bill C-6) on October 11, which relaxed conditions such as residency requirements and age limits for language testing, the immigration authorities have also updated citizenship applications and guidelines to align with the new policy. This not only eliminates the requirement for the Record of Landing but also raises the maximum age for dependent children to accompany their parents in immigration applications from 19 to 22. This means that permanent resident applicants' children within this age range can now immigrate together with their parents.
Recently, the federal immigration authorities announced an immigration quota plan for the next three years, aiming to welcome nearly one million new immigrants. The continuously increasing annual immigration quotas, combined with a series of favorable policies from the immigration authorities, demonstrate the Canadian government's open attitude toward immigration. Now is truly the golden period for applying for Canadian investment immigration.
