The Minister of Finance of Cyprus recently announced that the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics (CING) has signed a loan agreement worth 26 million euros with the European Investment Bank (EIB) to upgrade the former's research equipment.
"We recognize the great contributions made by the people of Cyprus and the efforts of the Cypriot government in saving the country's economy; this is truly remarkable progress," said Finance Minister Georgiades.
The support from the European Investment Bank has undoubtedly provided a "vital" helping hand in the recovery of the Cypriot economy. The Minister of Finance stated that Cyprus has seen its growth rate accelerate to over 3.5% for the ninth consecutive quarter, confirming the stability of the country's economic growth. Currently, the Cypriot economy is experiencing a strong recovery with healthy and sustainable development across all sectors, particularly in tourism, infrastructure, and real estate.
According to relevant data, statistics for this year to date show that passenger numbers at Larnaca and Paphos airports have soared to 5.5 million. It is estimated that by the end of 2017, passenger traffic in Cyprus will exceed 10 million. The sustained quarterly economic growth has also driven a steady recovery in the Cypriot real estate sector. The Central Bank of Cyprus (CBC) stated that the residential property price index in Cyprus recorded growth for the third consecutive quarter in the first quarter of 2017, with declining unemployment and increased confidence being important factors supporting the rise in housing prices.
With a strong economic recovery, a booming tourism industry, steady and orderly development of the real estate sector, and a government that prioritizes the construction and improvement of education, healthcare, and public infrastructure to enhance the quality of life for local residents, combined with Cyprus's top-tier education, breathtaking scenery, pleasant Mediterranean climate, and safe living environment, more and more international investors are setting their sights on Cyprus to purchase property or pursue investment immigration. Holding a Cyprus passport allows for investment and wealth management within the EU, visa-free access to over 150 countries and regions, and the freedom to live, work, and study in any of the 31 European countries (including 27 EU member states such as Germany, Italy, and France, as well as Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, and Liechtenstein), while enjoying the same welfare benefits as citizens in the 27 EU countries.
Worldway Group investment experts state that investing in real estate in the growing economy of Cyprus is one of the best choices. With the continuous improvement of various projects in Cyprus and the influx of a large number of tourists, the future economic return on real estate investment will be significant. Investors who spend 2 million euros on property can now quickly apply for immigration to Cyprus in one step, allowing the whole family to obtain EU citizenship and achieve both wealth and status.
