On August 22, the Irish Immigration Service Delivery issued the following statement in response to investor inquiries regarding visas and changes to investment projects:
Regarding Visas
Once an investor's application has been approved, if they require a visa to enter Ireland, they must submit a single-entry D-type visa in order to process their residence permit in Ireland. Effective from August 14, 2017, applicants holding other types of visas (such as BIVS or C-type visit visas) will not be able to process residence permits.
If a re-entry visa is required, the applicant must complete an application form and provide a valid passport, a valid GNIB card, two Irish passport-sized photos, and the corresponding visa fee, which is €60 (for a single re-entry visa) or €100 (for a multiple re-entry visa). If a minor under the age of 16 is applying for a visa, an original birth certificate and an original copy translated by a certified translation company must also be provided.
Regarding Changes to Investment Projects
Investors may only change to an approved project with a similar investment threshold, i.e., changing from a project with an original investment of €1 million to a new project with an investment of €1 million. However, this change is permitted only once. Before any transfer is completed, the project change must receive written approval from the Evaluation Committee.
Finally, please note that from January 1, 2018, applications for project changes will no longer be accepted. Any investor wishing to change projects will need to submit a new application and pay the corresponding application fee.
The Ireland Immigrant Investor Programme (IIP) is available to non-EEA nationals who commit to investing in an approved project in Ireland. The Immigrant Investor Programme requires an investment of no less than €1 million, and the investment funds must come from the applicant's own resources, not through loans or other similar financing. The minimum investment period is three years.
For investors, choosing an investment project must be done with caution; in fact, it is even more important to carefully select an immigration agency, and one should never make decisions blindly. According to industry experts, investors can evaluate immigration agencies based on their legitimacy and visa approval rates.
First, ensure that the company is a legitimate and qualified agency. Second, investors should also understand the agency's visa approval rate. Only immigration agencies with a large number of successful cases and high approval rates can maximize the guarantee of immigration success and gain market recognition. For example, the highly reputable Worldway Group, which has focused on investment immigration for 20 years, has helped tens of thousands of families successfully immigrate overseas through investment since its inception. Its high visa approval rate and specialized, comprehensive immigration services have made it a focus of industry attention.
