How long does it take to obtain a Permanent Resident card through the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP)? For the SINP Entrepreneur stream, it can take as little as 7.5 months to obtain permanent residency, while a longer timeline may range from 1 to 2 years. Applicants must first submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to Saskatchewan. Once selected and a complete application is submitted, the applicant may land in Saskatchewan to establish their business upon approval by the SINP office, after which they may apply for provincial nomination.
Application Process:
1. Submit a Saskatchewan EOI
The EOI system will automatically calculate a score based on the information you submit. Higher-scoring candidates are ranked higher and may be prioritized for selection.
2. EOI Selection and Invitation
Upon receiving an Invitation to Submit an Application (ISA), the applicant has 60 days to submit a complete electronic application and pay the CAD 2,500 application fee. Failure to submit a complete application within the validity period will result in the closure of the application and the removal of information.
3. Review Process
Once the preliminary review confirms that the applicant meets the requirements, they will be required to attend an interview, either in person or via video conference. After the final interview is passed, the applicant will receive a Business Performance Agreement (BPA). Once the applicant has reviewed and signed the document, they must send the scanned copy to the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program office.
4. Landing in Saskatchewan to Establish a Business
Applicants must submit a temporary work permit application within 3 months of receiving the SINP Entrepreneur Approval Letter and land in Saskatchewan within 12 months. Within 12 months of landing, the applicant must provide the SINP with a business establishment progress report, detailing all business activities.
5. Provincial Nomination Application
After operating the business in Saskatchewan for at least 6 months, the applicant may apply for provincial nomination. Once the nomination is approved, the SINP will issue a nomination certificate to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and send a nomination letter to the applicant.
