Recently, a reputable organization in Canada published an analytical report on the immigration industry, which not only predicted the overall policies and trends of Canadian immigration for 2018 but also cited the latest statements from the Canadian Minister of Immigration during interviews with foreign media. Various signs indicate that the immigration policies in Canada for 2018 will bring significant benefits!
Old cases under pressure, new quotas dramatically increase
The report shows that in the first half of 2017, a total of 51,285 people were invited, which is three times that of the first half of 2016.
Additionally, the backlog of old cases accumulated before the implementation of the Express Entry system in January 2015 has been largely reviewed and will not occupy a large number of quotas.
Canada's immigration quota will increase in 2018
The report also points out that although the specific number of immigration quotas for 2018 has not yet been announced, Minister Ahmed Hussen recently revealed that it should be at least 300,000 people, and it is likely to exceed this year's numbers.
The Minister also stated that future immigration will continue to be an important component of the Canadian economy, indicating that economic immigrants will still constitute the majority.
Immigration remains a fundamental national policy of Canada
Previously, the Advisory Council for Economic Growth of the Trudeau government also unanimously believed that if Canada does not quickly address its population issues in the 21st century, it will eventually be left far behind by the global economy. Therefore, it appears that immigration will remain a fundamental national policy of Canada for the next several decades.
