This article introduces the U.S. F1 visa renewal process, hoping to assist students studying abroad.
How to resolve issues related to F1 visa renewal?
First: Document Preparation Stage
1. Experts from the Study Abroad Network emphasize that the most important thing is to bring back all transcripts from your study period in the U.S. If possible, bring the original documents; if not, you can print an electronic version from your school's portal.
2. A valid I-20, with the stay dates in the U.S. being later than your next arrival date in the U.S., and a valid SEVIS Number.
3. A valid passport, with the expiration date being more than six months from the date of visa application; otherwise, you will need to renew your passport. Please carefully check the expiration date of your passport.
4. A visa photo, one printed copy, with specifications referring to the photo requirements for the initial F1 visa application.
Second: Form Filling Stage
1. Fill out the DS-160 form, noting that the current location must be selected as "GUANGZHOU CHINA", and generate the DS-160 confirmation page.
2. Register on the visa appointment website, select "No Interview Drop-off" and follow the website instructions to generate a new CGI Number, then pay at China CITIC Bank; after payment is completed, continue the website process until you generate the confirmation letter for the No Interview Drop-off.
Third: Submitting Documents
1. Submit your passport, I-20, transcripts, DS-160, and the confirmation letter for the No Interview Drop-off to China CITIC Bank.
2. That’s basically it; the time to receive the new visa page through drop-off may take longer. If your travel plans are urgent, it is recommended to opt for an in-person interview.
