April 2017 U.S. Investment Immigration Visa Bulletin
Regarding employment-based immigration categories:
The EB-5 investment immigration category has steadily advanced by 21 days, with the priority date for next month set to May 22, 2014. The EB-2 and EB-3 categories have advanced by 31 days and 153 days, respectively, with the latest priority date for EB-3 of August 15, 2014, significantly ahead of the January 15, 2013 date for EB-2.
Below is a brief analysis:
1. Two charts were released as usual: Chart A is the Final Action Date (FAD), and Chart B is the Date for Filing Applications (DFA). Since Chart B is not open, no further explanation is provided here;
2. Regarding family-sponsored immigration, all categories have seen significant progress, with the speed exceeding expectations since the start of the new fiscal year;
3. For EB-5 U.S. investment immigration, according to Chart A, if your priority date is before May 22, 2014, and your I-526 petition has been approved, you may proceed with an interview at the U.S. Consulate or file an I-485 application within the United States to receive your visa or Green Card.
The EB-5 category advancing by three weeks in one month is truly a pleasant surprise; happiness has come quite quickly! (In the previous few months, excluding the February Spring Festival, it had been advancing by just over two weeks each time).
