The U.S. Department of State announced the April 2017 immigration visa bulletin on March 9, with advancements in both family-sponsored and employment-based immigration categories.
Regarding Employment-Based Immigration Categories:
The EB-5 investment immigration category has advanced steadily by 21 days, with the priority date for next month being May 22, 2014. The EB-2 and EB-3 categories have advanced by 31 days and 153 days respectively, with the latest EB-3 priority date of August 15, 2014, significantly ahead of EB-2's January 15, 2013.
Below is a brief analysis:
1. The announcement still includes two charts; Chart A is the Final Action Date (FAD), and Chart B is the Date for Filing Applications (DFA). Since Chart B is not open, no further explanation will be provided here;
2. In terms of family-sponsored immigration, there has been significant advancement across all categories, with the speed exceeding expectations after the new fiscal year began;
3. For EB-5 U.S. investment immigration, according to Chart A, if your priority date is before May 22, 2014, and your I-526 has been approved, you can either attend an interview at a consulate or submit an I-485 application in the U.S., and you can subsequently obtain a visa or green card.
The EB-5 category advanced three weeks in one month, which is indeed surprising; happiness comes a bit too quickly! (In the previous months, except for the Spring Festival in February, it advanced just over two weeks each time).
