On March 6, President Trump signed a new travel ban. This new travel ban will replace the one signed by Trump on January 27. The new ban no longer restricts Iraqi citizens and only targets citizens from six Muslim countries: Iran, Libya, Somalia, Syria, Sudan, and Yemen. It will take effect on March 16.
From the effective date, for 90 days, citizens from Iran, Libya, Somalia, Syria, Sudan, and Yemen without valid visas will be prohibited from entering the United States; for 120 days, all refugees will be banned from entering the United States.
The following groups are exempt:
United States citizens and permanent residents (green card holders).
Individuals holding visas—anyone who holds a valid visa issued prior to 5:00 PM on January 27, 2017, or anyone who holds a valid visa issued before the enforcement of the executive order.
Dual nationals—travelers who hold a passport from outside the aforementioned six countries and also hold a passport from one of those six countries (i.e., dual nationals) are not restricted by this order.
Additionally, the new executive order allows for the issuance of visas or admission under specific circumstances.
With Trump's administration and the implementation of a series of new policies, the environment and policies surrounding immigration in the United States are gradually tightening, and significant changes are taking place in immigration policies. As the new travel ban is about to be implemented, the EB-5 Immigrant Investment Program, which aims to boost the US economy and create jobs in America, has become the best investment avenue for obtaining legal US citizenship during the Trump era.
As the EB-5 program undergoes reform and with the imminent substantial price increase to $1.8 million, investing in EB-5 projects that have received sample approval for I-526 will be the primary choice for investors seeking a green card in the United States. Such projects have already obtained approval from the US immigration authorities, and as long as the investor’s personal documentation is in order, they can successfully pass I-526 approval and obtain a conditional green card!
