According to information provided by the WorldWay Immigration Group's Los Angeles Customer Service Center, a report recently released by the Pew Research Center, based in Washington, D.C., estimates that there are approximately 11.1 million illegal immigrants in the United States.
These illegal immigrants in the United States are highly concentrated in certain areas. The 20 major metropolitan areas in the United States account for 6.8 million illegal immigrants, representing 61% of the 11 million illegal immigrants nationwide, which is approximately 3.5% of the total US population. This is significantly higher than the 36% of the US population concentrated in the 20 largest metropolitan areas. Within these top 20 metropolitan areas, five are located in California.
Among them, New York and Los Angeles have the highest numbers of illegal immigrants. Since 2014, 1.5 million people have settled in the Greater New York area, and approximately 1 million have settled in the Greater Los Angeles area. Houston is the third largest area for illegal immigrants.
According to this report, based on data from the Census Bureau in 2014, some areas have a higher proportion of immigrants without legal documentation. For example, around 17% of immigrants in the San Francisco area lack legal status, while the proportion in the Las Vegas area is 35%. In metropolitan areas such as Phoenix, Houston, Dallas, and Denver, 37% of immigrants lack legal status; nationwide, the figure is 26%.
At the time this report was released, President Trump is attempting to strengthen cooperation with local law enforcement to combat illegal immigration.
WorldWay Immigration experts note: Currently, new immigration regulations are being rolled out in the United States, with Trump taking a hard stance against illegal immigration. As a legitimate pathway to obtain U.S. immigration status — the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program — requires only a $500,000 investment to secure green cards for the entire family, which not only creates jobs in the United States but also boosts the economy, aligning with the essence of Trump's new policy. Therefore, it has become a preferable option for obtaining a U.S. green card under Trump's new immigration policies.
Driven by a surge in overseas investment, the WorldWay Immigration Group has proposed the "2017 Year of Investment in America," asserting that 2017 is an optimal time to invest in the United States and reminding individuals interested in obtaining U.S. visas through the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program to act quickly to take advantage of the last golden period for U.S. investment immigration before April 28!
WorldWay has launched high-quality EB-5 projects with approved I-526 samples, such as the Montage Pendry Hotel project in San Diego and the DLJ Four Seasons Resort project. Some of these projects have completed all employment targets required for the I-829 conditions, eliminating the most significant obstacle to converting conditional green cards to permanent green cards!
