Montreal-based Arton Capital recently released the latest edition of its Passport Index, a specialized system for ranking the utility of global passports. Among them, Antigua investment immigration, as an active investment immigration program, provides visa-free access to 131 countries and regions worldwide. The Antigua passport ranks first in the Caribbean region and 25th globally in terms of utility.
According to the index, the top 10 passports in the world are European, with the German passport ranked as the most powerful globally, with a visa-free score of 157, followed by Sweden, Finland, Italy, and Switzerland. However, Europe remains one of the more difficult regions for visa-free access. According to statistics from the United Nations World Tourism Organization, 76% of the global population requires a visa before traveling to Europe, whereas the Antigua and Barbuda passport provides visa-free access to all European countries.
The Passport Index has also introduced a new individual passport rating. Arton Capital Group determines the power ranking of each country's passport based on three aspects. This methodology combines the "visa-free" travel ranking, the "visa-on-arrival" ratio, and the United Nations Development Programme's Human Development Index to calculate the country's score.
The ranking of the most popular countries in the Passport Index displays the most and least popular nations; Antigua ranks fifth among more than thirty countries in the Caribbean region.
Armand Arton, President of Arton Capital, stated: "Many people in the world feel that their passports hinder certain opportunities in their lives, so they choose to obtain a second citizenship through investment immigration." In an era of increasing global mobility, becoming a global citizen is a major trend. Investing in a second residence or citizenship is a liberating and empowering privilege that carries responsibility toward the world.
