New immigrants who have successfully immigrated to the U.S. all have plans to invest and start businesses in the U.S. In 2016, Worldway Immigration Group introduced the concept of the "Year of Asset Allocation," with EB-5 investment immigration and U.S. real estate investment continuing to be the two major trends leading the U.S. investment sector in 2016. In this issue, the Worldway Immigration Group "U.S. Immigration Investment" column presents the ten best cities for startups in the U.S. as a reference for new immigrants who are interested in starting businesses and investing in the U.S.
Recently, the Los Angeles Customer Service Center of Worldway Immigration Group learned from the personal finance website WalletHub about the ten best cities for startups in the U.S. in 2016. The website used 15 metrics to determine the ranking, including the average growth rate of small businesses in the city, the prevalence of investors, the percentage of the population with at least a bachelor's degree, and corporate taxes. Business affordability is also an important metric. The ranking of the ten best small cities for startups in the U.S. is as follows:
1. Holland, Mich.
Holland, also known as the Tulip City, is located in Ottawa County in southwestern Michigan, bordering Lake Michigan, and is the largest city in the county. The Dutch cultural and historical sites within the county attract a large number of tourists every year. It was rated as the safest mid-sized city by Farmers Insurance in 2013; it was ranked the second healthiest and happiest city in the U.S. in 2010; and it was named one of the top five cities for retirement in the U.S. by CNN Money in 2006.
2. North Chicago, Ill.
There are many universities in North Chicago, and the Naval Station Great Lakes in the area is the only recruit training center for the U.S. Navy. North Chicago borders Lake Michigan to the east and the Chicago River to the west, connecting to the Mississippi River via a canal, and is a center for family medicine, podiatric medicine, pharmacy, and health sciences.
3. Brighton, N.Y.: The Town of Brighton is located on the southeastern border of Rochester and remained an agricultural and brick-making community until the 20th century, after which it evolved into an upscale suburban residential area.
4. Jefferson City, Mo.: In 2013, Jefferson City was named the "Most Beautiful Small Town" in the U.S. by Rand McNally.
5. La Vergne, Tenn.: La Vergne is known as the world capital of country music and is the sixth most business-friendly city in the U.S.
6. Inver Grove Heights, Minn.
7. Clearfield, Utah
8. Dothan, Ala.
9. Cheyenne, Wyo.
10. Deerfield Beach, Fla.
