Dominica Immigration Focus on Dominica Education: In an interview, the Ambassador of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Dr. Vince Henderson, promoted his country's education system, describing it as highly developed. Below is an overview of the education situation in Dominica based on Dr. Vince Henderson's explanation.
Speaking of the education system, Dominica's system is modeled after the British education system. We can say with great pride that our education system is very well-developed. I have a good reason for saying this, as I previously served as the Minister of Education, where I was responsible for establishing and managing the education system of Dominica. It can be said that Dominica's education system is fully comparable to that of other Caribbean nations. Furthermore, over the past many years, we have proven that we provide excellent learning opportunities for many students, as many of them have gone on to study at universities in North America, particularly the United States, and Europe, particularly the United Kingdom. I am also very proud to say that during my time as Minister of Education, I had the honor of presenting awards to many Chinese middle school students for their outstanding performance in school. In Dominica, we have a major high school and a university that were built by the Chinese. Additionally, there is a medical university built by an American company, where more than 1,000 students from all over the world, including North America, Africa, and Europe, graduate every year. After obtaining their degrees from this medical university, they are able to work all over the world.
Since 2004, we have also had an international student exchange program that sends Dominican students abroad for training. Currently, there are over 100 Dominican students in China. In fact, a sibling of mine studied in China and speaks fluent Mandarin; they have now returned to Dominica and are working for a Chinese construction company. If you were fortunate enough to attend our promotional event in Beijing yesterday, you would have seen many Dominican students who have studied in China and have now returned there; we met some of them yesterday.
Therefore, regarding this topic, investing in educational institutions is indeed a great area for Chinese people to invest in Dominica. This includes Chinese investors pursuing education projects independently or exploring opportunities in collaboration with local Dominican partners. Previously, we mostly thought about having Dominicans learn Chinese, but this is certainly an area that can be explored. Because the internet is now so widespread, everyone can go online to see which schools and education systems exist in Dominica. However, I want to say that we already have many successful cases, including American families who have immigrated to Dominica and are very satisfied with the education there. There is already a lot of successful experience, with students studying in Dominica going on to be admitted to top universities and colleges in North America and Europe. Therefore, I very much hope to see more Chinese investment in Dominica's education industry. Furthermore, if Chinese families wish for their children to receive a better education, Dominica can also provide such opportunities.
