Greece is a coastal country with a developed shipping industry and an extensive coastal transportation network, covering various islands within Greece, most of which have coastal destination ports as well as major international ports around the world. In addition to maritime routes, other transportation in Greece is also very convenient. Today, I will share with you the transportation situation in Greece.

  Air Travel

Greece has 16 international airports, with most international flights concentrated in Athens, including all intercontinental routes and regular flights to the capitals of various European countries. Additionally, there are also many flights from Thessaloniki, and the capital of Crete, Heraklion, has regular flights.

Currently, there are regular round-trip flights from Beijing to Athens, with a one-way flight time of approximately 14 hours and 10 minutes. The full name of Athens International Airport is Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport (ATH), located 33 kilometers southeast of Athens, accessible by metro, train, and airport express bus to the city center and Piraeus port.

  Train Travel

The Greek railway system is approximately 2,500 kilometers long, covering the main continental parts of Greece and connecting Greece with Central Europe and Turkey. The Greek railway meets high technical standards, including intercity trains (fast or regular) or ordinary trains (high-speed tracks). When traveling by train, don't forget to check out the old platforms, most of which were built in the late 19th century, offering a unique charm.

  Public Transport and Metro

As a tourist destination, Greece's public transport and metro system has undergone tremendous changes to meet the needs of local residents and a large number of tourists, with extensive routes and well-developed infrastructure. It is worth mentioning that there are no ticket checks on Greek public transport. The Athens metro generally does not have turnstiles, and no one checks tickets; there are ticket machines at the entrance, but whether to validate tickets is entirely up to the individual.

  Car Rentals

In Greece, there are many car rental agencies offering various cars, motorcycles, and electric bicycles for rent. These agencies can only operate with the permission of the Greek National Tourism Organization and require a national business license. Before renting a car, be sure to ensure that the vehicle has sufficient insurance (for accidents, theft, fire, etc.). You can obtain information about all car rental companies from the Greek Car Rental Association.

  Taxis

Taxis in Greece are very inexpensive by European standards. All legal taxis are equipped with meters (charged by kilometer) and display a card detailing taxes and tips. In some tourist areas, you can prepay some money for a taxi, but be sure to inquire about the approximate fare before getting in.

Greece also has many other modes of transportation, such as ferries and trams, which I will not list here. If you want to travel freely in Greece, consider immigrating to Greece. On July 9, 2015, the Greek Parliament officially amended the immigration bill and issued a new investment immigration policy, allowing for permanent residency for investors who purchase real estate worth €250,000, with both parents and children eligible as dependent applicants. The immense appeal of Greece's new immigration policy has driven a surge in domestic real estate transactions. More importantly, by choosing the Greece program, even if you do not settle in Greece, you still have access to multiple Schengen countries, truly enjoying free movement.

In celebration of the 10th anniversary of WorldWay Immigration's investment immigration services, we are offering thousands of vouchers worth ¥10,000 in service fees to investors, allowing them to deduct ¥10,000 from the immigration service fee when processing immigration with the voucher.
