Immigrating to Vanuatu applicants should note that, according to information obtained by the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Vanuatu from the Vanuatu Immigration Department, the regulations for Chinese citizens applying for visas to Vanuatu are as follows:
I. Visitor visa. Chinese citizens traveling to Vanuatu for short-term purposes such as tourism, visiting relatives or friends, attending meetings, or official business, and holding various passports valid for more than 6 months along with return or onward tickets, may obtain a visa on arrival at Vanuatu ports of entry without the need to fill out forms or pay relevant fees. Immigration officers at Vanuatu ports of entry will grant a visitor visa for a maximum of 30 days based on the departure ticket date, in accordance with relevant immigration laws. If a visitor does not have a return ticket, they are highly likely to be denied boarding by the airline or denied entry by immigration officers at the port of entry.
II. Other non-visitor visa categories must be applied for directly to the Vanuatu Immigration Department in advance, including:
(1) Extended visitor visa, suitable for visitors who need to extend their stay, up to a maximum of 7 months. Extensions beyond 7 months require special approval from the Director of Immigration.
