Immigrate to Canada and focus on Canadian education: The Fraser Institute recently released the 2016 Ontario Secondary School Rankings, with the traditional Toronto school St Michael’s Choir taking the top spot. This ranking is based on the results of the Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) Grade 9 mathematics assessment and the Grade 10 literacy test, with the goal of promoting educational improvement through the comparison of schools.
A total of 676 public, private, and Catholic high schools in Ontario were included in this year's list, slightly fewer than last year. Among the top 10, two high schools are from Toronto; in addition to the top-ranked St Michael’s Choir, Ursula Franklin ranked 10th. High schools in Markham performed exceptionally well, occupying 5 of the 15 spots in the top 10.
