Immigrating to Canada investors are focusing on the dynamics of the Canadian economy. Recently, the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) reported that since 2016, investor interest in gold has significantly increased, with net long positions in gold rising alongside the increase in gold ETF holdings.

RBC stated that the total commodity assets under global management (AUM) have returned to over 200 billion dollars for the first time in three months, approximately 206.7 billion dollars, "of which gold is particularly prominent," partly due to the increase in holdings of exchange-traded products (ETP).

RBC stated, "So far this year, net ETP inflows have reached nearly 260 tons, exceeding the total inflow for the entire year of 2012, driving spot gold ETP holdings close to the levels at the end of 2014."

However, the bank warned that in the past three years, the scale of asset management has seen these assets decline from the peak of 183.5 billion dollars in November 2012 to the current 86.8 billion dollars, losing nearly 100 billion dollars, or 53%.
