International students immigrating to Canada receive good news as the Canadian government plans to allocate CAD 113 million to the summer job program over the next three years, which will create 70,000 summer job positions. This not only helps more young students get started but also promotes Canada's economic development. The summer job program will subsidize the wages of young people aged 15 to 30 based on the provincial minimum wage. The prerequisite for receiving the subsidy is that these young people must be full-time students in both the previous and upcoming academic years.
Prime Minister Trudeau has emphasized the need to create more jobs for young Canadians since forming his cabinet last November, personally taking on responsibilities for youth affairs. He also highlighted that summer jobs help young people gain work experience, launch their future careers, cover their tuition fees, and develop self-sufficiency skills. This initiative will attract a large number of international students to Canada in pursuit of their study dreams.
