Recently, the US Citizenship and Immigration Services held its first US EB-5 immigrant investor program conference call in 2016. At the meeting, the Immigrant Investor Program Office (IPO) emphasized that it will intensify efforts to enhance the integrity of the project while the EB-5 project continues to grow, with a focus on combating fraud. IPO Director Nicholas Colucci specifically emphasized three measures taken by the IPO in response to combating EB-5 fraud in this conference call:
First, the IPO is collaborating with the Fraud Detection and National Security Directorate (FDNS) on immigration fraud detection.
Through this collaboration, EB-5 will be incorporated into the USCIS Administrative Site Visit and Verification Program (ASVVP). ASVVP currently only covers religious worker applications, H-1B applications, and L-1 applications. Under ASVVP, FDNS personnel will randomly select applications for unannounced site visits to collect information as part of compliance reviews.
Second, the IPO plans to increase the number of interviews at the I-829 application stage.
Lori MacKenzie, Chief of the IPO's Policy and Implementation Division, pointed out that the IPO expects to give I-829 applicants the option to have regional center representatives attend the interview.
Third, the IPO is developing a regional center audit program to further promote project compliance.
How can the risks of US investment immigration be effectively controlled? Worldway reminds EB-5 investors: on one hand, remember the philosophy of "project is king" and carefully select projects. On the other hand, choose a professional and reliable immigration agency.
As a professional investment immigration agency, Worldway Group is better able to adapt to the new normal of "project is king" in the critical period of current US investment immigration in terms of its ability to select projects and reasonably reduce risks. Worldway's analytical team fully considers the actual needs of investors. Starting from the perspective of investors selecting projects, they objectively compile the risk control measures for the project to "pass three levels" of EB-5, as well as the sources of these measures and terms, ultimately assisting investors in doing a good job in risk control when carefully selecting projects.
Currently, Worldway is specially launching three high-quality EB-5 projects for which it is the sole lead agent—the DLJ Four Seasons Hotel Resort Project (a successful project approved for investment and repayment by the hundred-billion-dollar real estate fund DLJ), and the 90 Columbus Apartment Project (a rare Manhattan concept apartment project with a full set of I-526 documents already sample-approved). These projects have numerous advantages such as strong developers, sufficient employment, low investment and repayment risks, and good exit mechanisms, making them excellent choices for seizing the opportunity to immigrate to the US at a low cost.
Meanwhile, in celebration of Worldway's 10th anniversary of US investment immigration in 2016, in order to give back to investors, Worldway is sending out thousands of 10,000-yuan service fee vouchers. Investors can use the voucher to deduct 10,000 yuan in immigration service fees when processing immigration. Event consultation hotline: 400-138-2929
