The Philippines is one of the fastest-growing economies in Asia in recent years, driven by three main engines of growth: consumption, investment, and exports. Investors immigrating to the Philippines can seek business opportunities in these areas. Recently, Philippine media reported that the Asian Development Bank plans to provide a total of 2.96 billion dollars in funding support to the Philippines over the next three years.
The Asian Development Bank's Country Operations Business Plan (COBP) 2016-2018 will focus on sustainable development and climate change infrastructure, good governance and inclusive finance, inclusive employment and education, and regional integration. The ADB stated in its report that this strategy aligns with the Philippines' 2011-2016 Country Partnership Strategy, the Philippine government's 2011-2016 Development Plan, and the ADB's 2020 Strategy Midterm Review. The ADB also indicated that it will provide $28.8 million in technical assistance over the next three years and will also consider supporting some public-private partnership (PPP) projects.
