According to Dealogic data, between January 1 and December 15, 2015, more than 70 companies were listed in Hong Kong. The Hong Kong Stock Exchange raised $31.8 billion in initial public offerings, ranking first globally. This marks the first time since 2011 that it has reclaimed the title of the world's largest initial public offering (IPO) market. Hong Kong is one of the largest stock markets in Asia and continues to serve as a primary financing hub for Chinese enterprises expanding abroad. For investors who are interested in or have already immigrated to and settled in Hong Kong, its relaxed business environment and robust economic strength make it an excellent choice, whether for starting a business or investing in financial products.
As of the middle of this month, a total of 125 companies have newly listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange this year, with a total equity fundraising amount of HK$1.06 trillion. Of this, HK$246.5 billion was raised through initial public offerings, and HK$811.8 billion was raised post-listing, breaking the annual record set in 2014.
Data also shows that as of November this year, the turnover of securitized derivatives on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, including derivative warrants and callable bull/bear contracts, ranked first globally, marking the ninth consecutive year it has held the top position.
In addition, the total trading volume of securities and derivatives in Hong Kong has reached new highs. Among them, securities trading reached HK$25.53 trillion, with an average daily turnover of HK$108 billion, breaking the record set in 2007.
