Singapore's e-commerce market is experiencing rapid growth, with its e-commerce infrastructure ranked first in Asia and fourth in the world, making it one of the countries with the highest per capita connectivity to the international internet.Immigrating to Singapore, its mature e-commerce environment provides highly favorable conditions for overseas internet entrepreneurs and offers many conveniences for daily life afterimmigration to Singapore. In recent years, the development of e-commerce in Singapore has been thriving, with new e-commerce platforms continuously emerging, and the trend of online retail expanding into physical stores is becoming common. Meanwhile, competition between major platforms is intensifying, making it customary to introduce new strategies to capture market share.
RedMart, the online grocery store in Singapore, has recently launched a new service called RedMart Relay. This new App integrates more third-party businesses, including fresh produce, clothing, and electronics. The CEO of RedMart Relay, Roger Egan, promises that users can receive their items within one hour, with faster delivery for food items.
Established for four years, RedMart received \$26.7 million in Series B funding in August this year. The total funding amount for RedMart has exceeded \$50 million, and its business is limited to the Singapore region. However, this year, a competitor named Honestbee has emerged in the area, capable of delivering products to users' homes within two hours. To counter this competitor, RedMart has launched a new service and stated that delivery times will be faster than Honestbee.

It is worth mentioning that RedMart's original key feature was its self-built warehousing and logistics system, as grocery delivery is more complex compared to other products. However, with the advancement of the new business, they have also restructured their logistics system by incorporating third-party couriers.
In the new service offered by RedMart, to ensure on-demand services, the platform's delivery personnel can pass on the deliveries they are currently making to third-party couriers whose routes closely match theirs. This proximity-routing algorithm is similar to the rideshare service provided by Uber. However, the critical challenges remain in order matching and personnel scheduling.
RedMart plans to expand its business into Hong Kong next year and anticipates completing a new round of financing early next year, which will be used for expansion into new regions.
