Investment Immigration to Singapore Benefits from Another Central Bank Expansion
The central bank recently announced that the Renminbi Qualified Foreign Institutional Investor (RQFII) quota for Singapore has been expanded again to 100 billion yuan, officially surpassing the one trillion mark. This RQFII quota expansion is conducive to meeting the asset allocation needs of Singaporean investors and facilitating bilateral trade and investment. With this expansion, the trend of investing and immigrating to Singapore is also looking very positive. The investment immigration industry will see a phased increase in inquiries and processing related to Singapore investment immigration hereafter. Singapore is a financial hub in Asia with rapid economic development, possessing strong economic competitiveness and advantages for investment immigration. A sound capital market and economic system, along with a free market economy, make Singapore the preferred country for many immigrant investors.
The central bank stated that this expansion of the Singapore RQFII quota is an important manifestation of deepening cooperation between the two countries in the financial sector, which is conducive to increasing the asset allocation needs of Singaporean investors, expanding the opening of the domestic capital market, and promoting the facilitation of bilateral trade and investment.
The so-called Renminbi Qualified Foreign Institutional Investor quota refers to the relevant entities, such as Hong Kong subsidiaries of domestic fund management companies and securities firms approved by the competent authorities, that can use RMB funds raised in Hong Kong to conduct investment business in the domestic securities market. In recent years, China's cooperation with other countries in the financial sector has continuously deepened, and the number of RQFII pilot regions and quotas has been constantly increasing. As of October this year, the RQFII pilot program has expanded from Hong Kong to 13 countries and regions, with a total approved quota reaching 970 billion yuan.
This expansion of the Singapore RQFII quota is of great significance, marking that the total quota for China's Renminbi Qualified Foreign Institutional Investors has now exceeded the one trillion mark.
